LIDEMYVA

or The Important Difference Between Looking at and Seeing Art

Dear visitors, welcome to the museum. Thank you for your patience and apologies for the wait; it seems that our guide will not be able to come, so we must ask for your cooperation to carry out this visit.

What if something went wrong during the museum visit and the visitors found themselves needing to take on the role of museum guides? What if they could only use gestures to explain the artworks? Could the visitors guess which artwork this peculiar guide is talking about if they didn’t tell us? LIDEMYVA ... or The Important Difference Between Looking at and Seeing Art combines creativity and games to offer a different artistic experience, encouraging a more attentive and engaged visit to the museum. It is a proposal for a more dynamic and active museum visit, making participants directly involved in creating their own meanings. To achieve this, they will step into the role of an impromptu guide, creating and sharing their interpretations of the artworks.

This participation is aimed to be activated through play, understanding that playing involves adding unnecessary obstacles to any freely participated task. Thus, the activity will be conducted with a facilitator who will energize the experience by introducing a series of limitations, such as restrictions on communication methods or movement through the space. These limitations also serve to provoke and awaken new perspectives.
