Modular Facade System
The most important design criterion for this system has been the modularity of the glass panels, simplifying the assembly process and allowing for freedom in combining patterns. Another significant challenge of the facade is to integrate the installations into the design to achieve as open an interior as possible. By placing the downspouts in the facade cavity, they become visible through the screen-printed glass from both inside and outside, integrated as an additional vertical element within the rhythm set by the outer leaf's support structure.
The facade system consists of two leaves with a ventilated air cavity. The glass panels in each leaf are screen-printed to enable thermal control. By varying the density of the patterns according to the facade's orientation, thermal transmission into the interior is reduced.
